Dhanushkodi
A hauntingly beautiful ghost town at the southeastern tip of Pamban Island, Dhanushkodi was devastated by a cyclone in 1964 and was never rebuilt. Today it draws visitors for its dramatic ruins, pristine beach, and the confluence of the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean. It is also revered as the point where Rama's legendary bridge (Ram Setu) to Sri Lanka is said to have begun.
